Can I set different HubSpot quote approval rules per team or per pipeline?
Not by team as an entity.
HubSpot lists team-based approval among the use cases its approval properties do not support, saying "You can set a team to approve quotes, but each required approver must be selected individually"; setting genuinely different rules for different conditions is possible, but it needs advanced approvals on Revenue Hub Enterprise.
What HubSpot says outright is not supported
Its own list of unsupported use cases includes "Require a team to approve quotes" and "Set approvals by the location of a team".
The same list also rules out setting a specific term length in months, enforcing that certain attachments are or are not included, and including one-time fees.
What you can route on instead
The Quote owner property. HubSpot’s documented scenario "Require approval for certain users" uses it, and works with standard or advanced approvals.
Naming the people who happen to sit on a team is not the same as pointing a rule at the team. The list drifts every time somebody joins or leaves, and nothing in HubSpot tells you it has drifted.
On pipeline specifically, check rather than assume
Pipeline does not appear on HubSpot’s published list of commonly used quote approval properties, whose five categories are pricing and discount, legal and contractual, subscription, location, and individual or team.
That list is described as commonly used rather than exhaustive, so the honest answer is to open your own portal’s property picker before planning around it. Do not take a blog’s word for it, and that includes this page.
Different rules at all is an Enterprise feature
Two conditions with two different approver sets is the advanced-approval scenario HubSpot calls "Set approvals for two conditions with different approvers", and advanced approvals require Revenue Hub Enterprise.
On standard approvals you get one filter set and one approver list, so "different rules per anything" is not available regardless of what you filter on.
Quotations are HubSpot’s own wording, copied without alteration. HubSpot is a trademark of HubSpot, Inc. QuoteRelay is not affiliated with HubSpot. Plan names, prices and feature gates change: the date above is when these were read, not a promise about today.
It routes HubSpot quote approvals by rules you write, and sends the approver a signed single-use link. The approver has no HubSpot login and no seat. One rule stays free for good, with unlimited approvers on it.
If you are already on Revenue Hub Professional with a Revenue Seat, HubSpot’s own approvals cost you nothing further, and you should use those instead.
